Helping you manage the stress of your day to day,
the holistic way
Enhancing your daily functioning by exploring your life's patterns.
Seeing what lifestyle changes you can make to improve your mood, manage anxiety and stress better and improve your quality of life.
I practice a integrative holistic approach to psychotherapy and coaching. We will collaborate to find the unique life management approaches that work best for how you're wired, that feel authentic and easy to implement in your life. We'll explore ways we can improve your mood, lessen your anxiety, manage your ADHD and emotions better, and overall improve your self esteem and sense of self. You will leave empowered to be the hero of your life's journey, having built skills and resilience to overcome obstacles.Understanding the role the body and our nervous system plays in our mood and sense of well being is essential in improving how we feel emotionally, how we handle stressful situations and how we react to everyday challenges. That is why my style incorporates somatic (body integrated) trauma therapies (like Somatic Experiencing and Sensorimotor therapy) and mindfulness, and I am heavily trauma informed. Trauma can have a lasting effect not only on our minds but also on our bodies as well as our soul. Feeling safe with your therapist is at the cornerstone of successful therapy, and I work hard to tune into what you need in treatment.I am solution focused and don't shy from providing suggestions on how to approach a situation, or which specific tools would work well. I provide many resources for clients:
- book recommendations
- websites to explore
- handouts that inform
so that you can continue doing the work we start in session on your own time if you're willing. My feedback is informed by CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Techniques) and behavioral interventions, as well as my knowledge of your history and patterns present in your life. While I don't fixate on the past, and our sessions will be focused on your future goals, your past influences your present, and we reflect on patterns when relevant, and their effect on your present life.I believe talking in therapy alone isn't enough - we must explore changes to routines and to our thinking in order to develop new improved habits. That said, it's also important to work with our own unique individual nature - not everyone is wired the same, and there is no "one size fits all approach." There are many great tools out there we can use to help you thrive.Exploring and unblocking the "behind the scenes" beliefs that are holding you back are valuable, and my psychodynamic and NLP (Nuero-Linguistic Programming) life coaching training supports us in exploring the unconscious patterns that stand in your way of achieving your goals.I vet my interventions to make sure they are evidence based and empirically supported, and regularly read peer reviewed journals and psychiatry articles to make sure my interventions are backed by strong scientific evidence.I am also a Certified Health Coach through Institute of Integrative Nutrition and when relevant, believe it's important to explore lifestyle changes when evaluating our mental health. As for a bit about my intersectional identities, I am a bilingual speaker and child of immigrants, and much of my life has been spent being a part of different communities in NYC and SF. Born and raised in the East Village, downtown living infuses my way of being in the world. I have spent most of my life as an outlier and a passionate advocate for change; and will show up as an ally and an advocate in your life as well.
